We teamed up with Samsung, Nerdist Industries & Comixology to host the The SXSW Gaming Expo closing night party at the Palmer Events Center, in Austin, TX.
Highlighted by performances from Ra Ra Riot and Youngblood Hawke the free event titled, Social Underground, was presented by Samsung Galaxy.
Prior to the show, we hosted the official SXSW cosplay contest at Social Underground with hosts Meg Turney and Seth Herzog.
We handled event management, production, the VIP lounge, branding and marketing for the show. We even built a life size LEGO Chris Hardwick!
Leading up to the concert we deployed a street marketing promotional stunt – placing old school phone booths retrofitted with Samsung Galaxy smartphones around the city. We developed a custom app that played recorded messages from Chris Hardwick through a handheld receiver while promotional content played on the smartphone. Fans were digitally rewarded with free cupcake and given the opportunity to enter to win VIP passes to the concert.
